Seal Tampering

Seal tampering is a versatile skill that enables individuals to dispel various magical effects such as spells, curses, hexes, bewitchments, and magical traps. When successfully removing a targeted spell, it can either be preserved on a scroll for future use, dismissed entirely, or manipulated at will by the tamperer, akin to controlling the opening or closing of a door with a key. However, failure in the seal tampering check results in triggering the seal's backfire effect. The backfire effect, determined by the DM, often results in the curse intended for removal spreading onto the tamperer as well. Alternatively, it may entail the tamperer being subjected to a spell with an effect equivalent to or around d20 fire damage. With each unsuccessful attempt, the tamperer suffers damage and or effects equal to X times the backfire, where X represents the number of failed attempts made on this specific seal.

You roll a d20 and add your Seal Tampering skill and Intelligence modifier to the roll. If the total is higher than the Difficulty Check, you succeed. If it is lower, you fail.
