Mettle

You roll a d20 and add your Mettle and Toughness modifier to the roll. If the total is higher than the Difficulty Check, you succeed. If it is lower, you fail.

  • Difficulty Check 7 (Very Easy)

  • Resisting the mild effects of a common cold or shrugging off a minor toxin.

  • Difficulty Check 12 (Easy)

  • Withstanding the discomfort from a mild poison or resisting the initial symptoms of a minor illness.

  • Difficulty Check 17 (Moderate)

  • Enduring the effects of a more potent poison or fighting off a serious infection.

  • Difficulty Check 22 (Hard)

  • Resisting a dangerous poison meant to incapacitate or overcoming the symptoms of a debilitating disease.

  • Difficulty Check 27 (Very Hard)

  • Surviving a lethal toxin that would incapacitate most beings or enduring the advanced stages of a deadly illness.

  • Difficulty Check 32 (Legendary)

Overcoming the effects of an extraordinarily powerful poison or disease, known to be nearly impossible to survive.
