Athletics

(e.g. running, climbing, swimming)

You roll a d20 and add your Athletics skill and Strength modifier to the roll. If the total is higher than the Difficulty Check, you succeed. If it is lower, you fail.

  • Difficulty Check 7 (Very Easy)

  • Climbing a knotted rope hanging from a sturdy branch.

  • Difficulty Check 12 (Easy)

  • Scaling a rocky hillside with intermittent footholds.

  • Difficulty Check 17 (Moderate)

  • Swimming against a strong current in a rushing river.

  • Difficulty Check 22 (Hard)

  • Climbing a sheer cliff face with only narrow ledges to grip onto.

  • Difficulty Check 27 (very Hard)

  • Scaling a towering waterfall, navigating slippery rocks and evading rushing water.

  • Difficulty Check 32 (Legendary)

  • Ascending a smooth, vertical surface of a towering fortress using only your hands and feet, with no visible footholds or handholds available.
